If you are distributing your station in a retail or restaurant environment, you may find it more cost-effective to provide your clients with a dedicated receiver device in place of a full computer system.
The Barix Exstreamer is an ideal, cost-effective solution. You can find out more about them at the Barix Website.
This guide is designed to show you how easy it is to set up a Barix Exstreamer to work with your station. For full instructions on the setup of the device, please refer to the manufacturer's quick install guide.
Setup
Connect the Barix Exstreamer to the network/router using a standard network cable. Connect a pair of headphones to the front of the unit.
Wearing the headphones, turn on the unit. The IP address of the Barix Exstreamer will be announced, write this down.
On a computer/tablet connected to the same network access the IP address in a browser. The status page will load.
Log in to your Radio.co account and visit the 'Listen' section in the sidebar. Scroll down to the bottom to see your listen links.
โ
Copy the link (ending in '/listen'). You will need this to paste into the Barix settings window.
Please note: You may need to change the first part of the link from "https://" to "http://" (remove the s) in order for the streaming link to be accepted.
Head back to the Barix Streaming Client settings and click 'Configuration' at the top left. Paste the URL just copied into the '1.URL' field.
Click Apply in the upper left. The Barix Exstreamer will restart.
After the IP is reannounced you should hear your stream playing via the headphones. You can check the status of the Barix Exstreamer by clicking 'Home' in the upper left of the settings page, and also via the green light on the front of the device.
You can now connect the Barix Exstreamer to the venue's PA system/Amplifier using a standard stereo RCA cable.
