How EDGE enhances your station's sound
EDGE™ Audio Processing is a revolutionary new audio processor from Radio.co that improves the quality and consistency of your radio station's stream by applying:
AGC (automatic gain control)
Multiband compression
EQ (equalization)
Designed to make your station sound cleaner, punchier, and more polished - closer to a professional terrestrial DAB/FM/AM broadcaster. But without needing audio engineering knowledge or external tools.
Hear the difference in real-time
The best way to understand the power of EDGE™ is to hear it. We’ve built an interactive demo where you can A/B test our processing against raw audio.
How to use the demo
Choose Your Genre: Select a genre that matches your station's style.
Toggle EDGE™: Use the bypass switch to hear the audio processing switch.
Cycle Through Presets: Experiment with different profiles. Choose from Rock Punch to Smooth Jazz to find the perfect "signature sound" for your broadcast.
Enabling EDGE™ Audio Processing
EDGE™ Audio Processor is managed within Settings > Broadcasting.
Enabling or disabling EDGE™ will restart your station.
Volume Normalisation, a tool to even out volume differences for a consistent output, will be disabled if EDGE™ is enabled due to redundancy.
Finding your signature sound with presets
EDGE™ comes with 16 professionally mastered presets. Whether you're running a high-energy dance station or a late-night jazz show, there’s a profile for you.
Changing presets will restart your station for audio processes to apply.
Technical specs & performance
Whether you’re fine-tuning your sound or planning a station update, here's everything you need to know about the technical impact of EDGE™ Audio Processing.
Feature & Feel 🎚️ | The Technical Reality 📡 |
Ultra-Low Latency | EDGE™ introduces a negligible delay of only 7.8ms - well below the industry standard for "noticeable" lag. Your listeners won't hear the difference, but they will hear the quality. |
Station Restarts | For EDGE™ to work, your station will need a restart each time it's enabled, disabled, or a new preset is applied. We recommend changing these settings during quieter listening hours to minimise disruption. |
Music Presets | Loudness isn't always better. Each preset caters to a specific genre. So find your perfect sound with a balance of EQ, compression, and AGC to amplify your audio. |
