Altacast/Edcast

Broadcast a live input from your Windows computer.

NOTE: This help guide was prepared by Radio.co and is for reference only. We advise to check the developer’s help resources for more in depth support with their software.

Before you can broadcast live, schedule a live event within your station calendar. Please see this guide for more information.

AltaCast was formally known as Edcast reborn. You can download AltaCast Standalone 1.1 here.

You will also need the C++ 2010 runtime and the latest Lame_enc.dll file for MP3 support. 

Unzip the Lame .zip archive and paste the Lame_enc.dll file into the Altacast folder on your computer. Usually found:

C:/Program Files (x86)/Altacast

Downloading Altacast.

Now everything is installed open Altacast and click “Add Encoder”. Double click the encoder to open the configuration window.

Enter your Host, Port and Password from the DJ bar in Radio.co, refer to the image below for guidance.

NOTE: You must also check the 'Use Bitrate' box choose “MP3 Lame” as the encoder type and sever type is SHOUTcast. You will also need to remove everything from the “Mountpoint” field.

Click 'OK' to save.

After selecting your Live Recording source (e.g.Microphone/Mixer/Line In) click 'Connect'. The DJ bar will update to show you are broadcasting.
